The Christ Event

The Ultimate Point of Reference
in Understanding the Administration of God.

In order to understand HOW the death, burial, resurrection, ascension, glorification and enthronement of one Man, the Christ brought all things old to an end, and brought into being uncorrupted, and incorruptible newness, we must understand Christ's relationship to all of creation, and particularly creation's Head, the Man of God's desire.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, is finally proven to be the Lord of all that is in heaven, on earth, and beneath the earth in His glorification at the right hand of the Father. From there, He gave a revelation of Himself to John, His Apostle, that must be understood, as central to the normative inspired record of scripture. In scripture we have that inspired record of God's Word, the Word which IS His Son, the record by which we judge all that lays claim to divine inspiration.

To restate: Our Old and New Testament scriptures are not, in themselves as "letter," the Message of God. Christ is God's Message. Christ is God's Speaking. The Son of God IS what God has to say to man, and in scripture, even in its present form which is requiring honest, scholarly, arduous translation-refinement, is the normative inspired record of that Word, by which we judge all other claims to inspiration.

To John, the glorified Christ gave a vision, accompanied by clear, defining, factual statements re: the Truth in its finality, declaring "I AM the beginning and the End . . . " Only He, the Spirit of Truth, can translate that factuality to the human heart as a subjective revelation and understanding of the Truth. This He does, as both God's Logos, and Rhema, the Greek words that describe Christ as the summary Word of God to be subjectively experienced in living communion with Him.

Let us consider Christ, God's Son, as the Beginning of all things. What is meant by Christ as God's Beginning, is NOT that God created Him first before everything/everyone else, for He is God's Son. A Son is not created. A Son is birthed. He is not the divine Pinocchio. He is the all-encompassing fruit of the loins and womb of God, who, by the very nature of Him being the reproduction, by birth, of His Parental Source, is the fulness of the Being which conceived and birthed Him, and thus, His Personhood declares, explains, and defines Deity, and the expression of the Ideal of Divine desire and thought.

As God's Beginning, His Personhood is the Sphere within which God began to DO all that God IS. Everything God has done, is doing, and will do, He does within His Son. Clearly, both the Beginning and the End (Goal/Consummation) is within that same magnificent Sphere of Personhood. What God does is IN the Beginning, which is Christ. Christ is not the first thing created in an eonian sequence of creation. He is the Eternally Generated One, by the Seed of God, Who, translated INTO, and AS, the dimension of the ages, sums up all things within Himself.

So we come to how The Christ Event must become our theological reference point, and frame of reference. All things belong to Him in Whom they were created. All things are constituted by Christ-inclusion, and since all things trace back to His Eternal Generation, all things have a Son-essence. He is the FirstBORN of all CREATION. All things, are not mere things. All things are, in their essence, the work of God's hands, and sonship is the material of God's artistry. All creation awaits with travail, the unveiling of the sons of God in all the liberty of their glory, the glory that is theirs from their Elder Brother, BECAUSE, all creation came FROM the material of sonship, the sonship of First-Begotten, inclusive of all His brethren.

This ONE, IN Whom all things were created, came INTO all that had been created as Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Son of God. I'll restate that because it is so important. God sent His Son, in the Person of the historical Jesus of Nazareth, INTO the ages, which He, God, had created IN Him as the Cosmic Christ. Please stay with me: He, in Whom all things have come into being, Himself, as one, singularly all-inclusive Human Being, came INTO all that is contained IN Him. When He came into the all—integrally Son-constituted by its inclusion in Him—He came into it all as the essence of it all. Modern science provides us with a factual confirmation of this truth. Please continue to follow closely with me:

Everything that a man is, is in his DNA. From his blood, for instance, his DNA can be extracted, and within that DNA is all that the man is. His DNA is inside him, but also all that he is inside His DNA. Imagine science extracting from a man, his DNA, and putting that DNA through a process of dynamic destruction, a destruction that would effectively kill its cellular corruptibility.

But, working with the principle of nature, whereby new life comes forth out from death, the man's DNA is transformed into incorruptible newness, a newness that had been lying within his essential humanity awaiting this process that would not only rid it of corruptibility, but also add from within, a quality of radiance, that had awaited being released by the process of death unto life MORE ABUNDANT. That's the life that Jesus, crucified and risen gives, not only life, but life, and that more abundantly.

THEN, having put that DNA through the above process, they inject it back into the man, in whom, that transformed DNA goes to work to swallow up the former DNA condition, until the whole man is made gloriously new. That's as nearly a perfect picture as I know of, of HOW the death, burial, resurrection and glorification of the One Man, Jesus Christ, will transform all of the creation.

For He, Himself, in His all-inclusive Personhood, was/is the extracted DNA of the whole of God's creation. In Him, it's all been accomplished, and now there is, from within the whole, the administration of, the outworking of, what God has accomplished in Him. That which has been done, is IN Him as its DNA, and by Him being WITHIN the all, the all will be made new. You see, in Him, the DNA of the race, has been MADE new, and from that essentiality, He is MAKING all things new.

Now I'm pressed to make a "present truth" application. Any theological system that stretches its theological reference point beyond the death, burial, resurrection and glorification of Jesus Christ, enlarging that theological reference point to include the events of AD 70 as being, for instance, intrinsic to the work of God which brought the dispensation of the law to an end, is seminally deficient in its understanding of the finality of the Christ event.

Paul explained the gospel which he had preached to the Corinthians, as the good news that Christ died, and was buried, and arose again the third day, and that, not in some esoteric, disembodied sense, but rather physically seen by many within the dimension of time and space in His fully embodied Manhood. Suppose, at the time he was writing those words, that he looked ahead and saw the events of AD 70 unfold to him with prophetic vision, do you think he would have paused, and thought, "I'd better add the coming destruction of the temple, along with the Lord's death and resurrection, as integral to the gospel? Indeed, he would not have. Titus didn't bring anything to an end, but Christ brought every former thing to an end, and brought forth, in Himself, all newness.

Titus' army was an instrument of God for partial, but truly archetypal destruction of those archetypal edifices, now made obsolete on the basis of His death, their destruction constituting a representatively perfect historical portrayal of the effectiveness of Christ's death, the fulness of which will be revealed in due time.

The events of AD 70 are a result of God's finished work in Christ, and I emphasize a result (one very classically representative of all that would follow), not THE result. Oh dear ones, please understand: At that moment when our Lord cried, "It is finished," the dominion of the law came to an end, all relating to God based upon performance came to an end in Him, the DNA summation of the whole race. Nothing was finished in AD 70, nothing, nothing, nothing, for it had all been already finished, and the events of that representatively terrible holocaust, vividly portrayed what would finally universally unfold from the finished work of thirty-seven years previous.

The physical temple was destroyed in AD 70, but in Christ, by. His, death, the very idea, thought, notion, imagination, consideration, inclusion and place of anything other than relating to God in Spirit and Truth was brought to an end. Total destruction of anything requires that it's very idea be destroyed. Though forms of an idea may be destroyed, if the idea is not, new forms of it will arise to take the former's place. In Christ, we know nothing except the glorious paternal/filial Way by which the New Man knows God.

The Idea of injecting Christ's DNA into Humanity brought an avalanche of scriptures to mind.

"The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened."
"The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? ... Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus,

His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever.

As a baby grows unobserved in a mother's womb until suddenly the time is upon her so that she brings forth a wondrous manifestation of new life. Quietly and unobserved His Royal DNA has been rewriting us in our inner man, perfecting us to crown all of creation. Additionally, I am reminded that Jesus told us of the birth pangs that would proceed this great event.
